In the Stredolabska table near the Zelezne mountains, by the Brslenka tiny river. Founded during the reign of Premysl Otakar II., the royal city. The venue of the Caslav congress in June 1421, when Jan Zizka, whose remains are found in Caslav almost 500 years later, is also elected a member of the provincial government. The historic center is a city monument area. The airport on the northern edge of the town serves as the 21st Tactical Air Force Base and is one of the main combat units of the Czech Air Force.
