Nikon introduces a new variable focal length lens, the Nikkor Z 28 - 400 mm f/4 - 8 VR. According to the manufacturer, this lens achieves two firsts in its category: it has the largest range of focal lengths (14.2x) and weighs only 725 grams. If we do not plan to print photographs in a large format and accept a relatively deep depth of field in the images, this versatile Nikkor will be a good companion for e.g. reportage photography or when traveling lightly, when we do not want or cannot carry heavy and large fast lenses with us.

The Nikkor Z 28 - 400 mm f/4 - 8 VR lens is, as the name suggests, equipped with its own optical stabilization system, which makes it possible to cooperate with the stabilization of the sensor of some cameras and thus extend the times for photographing without a tripod by up to 5.5 EV.

The new lens should start appearing in stores already in mid-April. The price in Germany is 1549 € incl. VAT 19%, in the USA $1299 (no VAT).
