NIKON D600:

A GREAT CAMERA TO THE D3X.

August 13, 2012.
I was planning a longer article about D3x, but I'm afraid, I won't write it any time soon. I can find no one negative about it, so I would probably create something like a paraphrase of Nikon catalogues, which probably no one would read.

However, this camera still has one small disadvantage. So, rather a property. It attracts attention (great) and in some places I am simply worried about it sometimes. I mostly photograph fine art photographs alone and abandoned places are an inexhaustible source of photographic inspiration. But not only photographers like remote areas, where the average citizen is afraid to enter. I'm not even worried about myself, but the camera can be very easy to damage and because I really like it a lot and it also feeds me, I just don't create photographs on some places. But now that could change.

Probably already this autumn, Nikon should introduce a new D600 DSLR camera with an FX-type sensor, ie the size of a 36 mm film frame. It will be a cheap model, that will not have some of the advantages of professional bodies, but the main yes:

... and without this I would do, but it's nice:

When I talk about a cheap model, it should be the cheapest DSLR camera with a sensor size of a film frame. According to preliminary estimates, the price should be between 30 - 37 000 CZK, including tax! If these estimates will be confirmed, the prices of used D700s, which are still holding at 30 - 40 000 CZK, will fall very quickly, but also Canon 5D MII and probably 5D MIII. In short, good news for all, who want to use their film lenses in the original focal lengths and the price of FX, respectively FF DSLRs, they still came too high. Coincidentally, there have been recent rumors of a new Canon with similar parameters, but only a 22 Mpx sensor, 19 focus points and a slightly higher price. It is logical, otherwise Canon's losses caused by the outflow of customers to Nikon would be very high.

I will always carry the new D600 with me, so it will have either an older 50 mm f/1.8D (the new one can't be found anymore, I have to find a nice used one), or one of the lenses with a variable focal length that I don't use otherwise. There are two options:

AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR.

AF-S NIKKOR 24 - 85 mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR.

AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR.

AF-S NIKKOR 24 - 120 mm f/4G ED VR.

Of course, all these preparations are aimed at new photographs in ►Diaries and also at documenting new places for photographing ►Different Landscapes. I plan to print the ►Diaries to a maximum 70 x 50 cm in the future, so it is possible to use lower quality optics with the D600. It's not a compromise, it will allow me to walk all day without much fatigue and visit places I wouldn't just take the D3X. On the other hand, it will photograph all orders and, of course, ►Different Landscapes. But there are carefully selected places, where I go over and over again, until there is the right light and atmosphere.
